Machining cycle
Boring
Boring internal diameters

The cycle form: bore diameter, final diameter and tool/holder diameter, with a live 2D path simulator on the right.
The boring cycle removes material along an internal diameter over one or several passes, mirroring outer-diameter turning but for the internal surface.
Who needs this cycle
Needed when an internal diameter must be enlarged to a precise size after drilling — for a shaft fit, a bearing seat, and similar.
Key form parameters
- •Start and end internal diameter
- •Length of the bore
- •Finishing allowance
- •Feed rate
- •Spindle speed
